Worth. Inventer la haute couture

On the occasion of the exhibition "Worth. Inventer la haute couture", presented by the Petit Palais, Maison Lelièvre is proud to highlight the legacy of excellence embodied by Tassinari & Chatel, prestigious silk manufacturer since 1680.

For this unique exhibition, the Maison has loaned a selection of precious archival pieces: historical fabric samples and technical design drawings (mises en carte), authentic witnesses to the ancestral savoir-faire of the Lyon silk-weaving tradition. These documents enrich the exhibition's scenography and offer a better understanding of the exquisite materials that once adorned the elegant clients of Charles Frederick Worth, a visionary couturier and true pioneer of haute couture.

Featured on the exhibition poster: an exquisite tea-gown by Worth (around 1897), crafted from a Tassinari & Chatel fabric – a green satin-ground silk with blue cut velvet motifs, mechanical cotton lace, and a lining of iridescent green and blue silk taffeta.

The exhibition is on view until September 7, 2025.

A Quenin archive at the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay

Garden Party 2024 - Paris Society

Maison Lelièvre is honoured to have taken part in the Garden Party organised by PARIS SOCIETY in the heart of the Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay. This was an opportunity to highlight a Quenin archive from the Maison Lelièvre collection, through a magnificent tablecloth and accessories.

Produced around 1795, this "Léonie" archive features stylised flowers and exotic fruit, characteristic of Indian women of the period. The elegance of the graphics and the balance of the colours give it a real refinement, while the freshness of the shades has been wonderfully preserved.
